The good news is that England welcomes most breeds of dogs and cats, provided they meet the country’s pet import regulations. Moving to the United Kingdom can be an awesome adventure: new home, new job, new school, new friends. And more good news is that the UK welcomes most dogs and cats from South Africa. However, certain dog breeds and their crosses are banned, including the Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro. Bengal cats must be 5th generation.
Don’t stress – in our fifty years of caring for and transporting pets, we have found that most dogs and cats handle overseas travel very well, young, and elderly alike. Your vet will just need to declare them fit and healthy to travel.
No – but donβt worry. Pets going to the UK travel in a special section of the cargo hold as manifested cargo. It is beneath the passenger section, temperature-controlled and pressurised, so they are extremely comfortable and will sleep most of the trip.
